Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What method of payments does HD&J Transport accept?
A: HD&J Transport accepts credit cards, money orders, cash, or cashiers checks for delivery

Q: How do I get a quote?
A: You can complete our quote request form or call our toll-free number 888-435-8726, and our representatives will be happy to assist you.

Q:  Is my vehicle insured?
A: Yes, HD&J transport maintains liability and cargo insurance. Each car carrier in our network also maintains the legal limits for both liability and cargo insurance. There is no deductible to the customer.

Q: What is door-to-door service?
A: Door-to-door means the car transport driver will get as close to your door as legally and safe as possible. Many cities have restrictions on large trucks that prohibit them from going into residential areas. Most of our transporters are huge and need a large area to turn around, so if access to your home is restricted by narrow streets, low hanging trees, electrical lines, etc., the driver may ask you to meet the truck in a nearby parking lot where it is safe to load or unload.

Q: Can I put items in my vehicle?
A: You can put soft items such as bedding, clothing, etc. Not only are items not insured during transport, DOT regulates what can be transported. Auto transport companies are not permitted to transport household goods. The DOT can fine a transporter $10,000 if found to be carrying household goods. Moving companies are the only companies licensed to transport household goods. No firearms, hazardous materials, or illegal contraband are allowed at any time.

Q: Do I have to be present for pick up or delivery?
A: Yes, you or someone you designate needs to be present to review the inspection with the driver. Do not sign the inspection upon delivery until you are satisfied that the condition is the same on the receiving end. Once the receiving document is signed, it finalizes the delivery.

Q: When will you pick up my vehicle?
A: We are an ASAP company. It is normally within a couple of days but can take up to 10 days for pick up during peak times. It all depends on truck availability and where the vehicle is picking up or being delivered. Some areas such as Florida and California have seasonal peak times. During those peak times, the trucks may be scheduled as far out as 30 days. This means we have to wait for a cancellation or expedite a truck for pick up. There is an additional fee for expedited picks ups, but if you have time restrictions, we will do everything possible to make it happen.
